King Midas Throneroom

This project was intended to be my take on the King Midas throneroom. I didn't want to just make everything gold, so I wanted to try to give it a more subtle gold touch. All assets are optimized for VR use.
in one of the versions of the story I read, King Midas first used his golden touch to turn roses into gold, after which he ordered his servants to give him a meal that he also changed to gold. His daughter came to him upset that he had ruined her rose bushes and when he tried to comfort her he turned her into gold as well. After that, Midas left his palace to search for Dionysus to take the gift back. Eventually Dionysus showed himself to Midas and told him to wash himself and anything he touched in the river Pactolus and it would reverse the process. When Midas washed himself in the river, the power flowed out of him and turned the river sands gold. After that, he abandoned all his wealth and property and became a hermit.
